It appears they used their Frontiers tools to make the Sonic Origins 3D menus (which are awesome btw). Given how fast-paced Sonic the Hedgehog games often are, this would be a big boost to the game and would surely make it that much better in the eyes of fans. So leftover Frontiers stuff was found in Origins.

A figure promoting the game was recently revealed, as well as a first look at how they might look in the game.
